Can You Lose Weight Without Performing Cardiovascular Exercises?

I believe that it is very common for people to ponder over whether they can actually start losing weight without performing cardiovascular exercises. I believe this is so as people feel that cardiovascular exercises are boring and a waste of time, as many of them who perform them religiously may not necessarily see substantial results also!

Are they then really compulsory when trying to lose weight? From my personal experience, I do not perform much of cardiovascular exercises, and yet I managed to reduce four to five per-cent body fats in a short span of slightly over two months. Also, from my interviewing of several friends who managed to lose some serious weight in a relatively short span of time, most of them simply told me that they concentrated only on their diets, and worked hard at keeping their calorie intake in check.

Do not get me wrong, I believe that cardiovascular exercises are great for maintaining your cardiovascular health, and it also helps you speed up your rate of weight loss. However, it is definitely not compulsory for you to lose weight!

In fact, if you were to ask any dietician or fitness coach worth his salt, I am very sure that he or she will tell you that diet is the number one thing which you must concentrate on, without which it does not matter what exercises you perform. It is perfectly fine and still possible to lose weight if you have a less than ideal exercise routine but a perfect diet. However, it will not be the case for the opposite.

So how then do you go about getting a good diet into place? Firstly, you will have to ensure that you are in a calorie deficit, which is simply the case where you are burning more calories through your exercises than you are consuming in the form of food.

Next, check if you are taking way too much of any type of foods, especially carbohydrates. If you are taking in excess refined carbohydrates like rice and pasta, you will find it very difficult to lose weight. Such foods are easily stored as fats, and also tend to hold onto water, causing water retention and giving you a bloated look.

It is however, also beneficial if you were to work on living a more active lifestyle, such as choosing to take the stairs than the elevator whenever reasonable. Such simple steps like those mentioned in this article will help you lose weight.
