Weight Loss Using Vitamins B12 and B6

It is a well-known fact in the medical world that vitamins are essential for normal body function. There are a variety of vitamins in our food with some vitamins being synthesized in our skin upon exposure to sunlight. Metabolic processes in the body are greatly assisted by the B vitamins, more so than most other types. As of late, B6 and B12 have been considered to help significantly for those who are trying to lose weight, and these vitamins have gotten a lot of attention.

B12 Vitamin

Cobalt is one of the elements in the structure of B!2, so another name for it is cobolamine. It is a water-soluble vitamin that is essential in maintaining the function of a number of different organ systems in the body, particularly the brain and nervous system. In addition to this, it is essential for the synthesis of haemoglobin and patients who are deficient in vitamin B12 can be anaemic.

Animal products are another source of vitamin B12 vitamins. Deficiency of vitamin B12 is seen in people who consume a strict vegetarian diet. B12 Vitamin for weight loss

B6

B6 is similar to B12 in that it is water-soluble, and another term for vitamin B6 is pyridoxine. The body has many active forms of B6 within it. Vitamin B6 is essential for the breakdown and use of protein molecules (amino acids) and also in the synthesis of glucose within the body. This boosts the breaking down of fats in the body additionally.

Vitamin B6 is also available in a variety of foods such as whole grain, nuts, vegetables and meat. The symptoms that someone is deficient in vitamin B6 could include inflammation of the cheeks and or tongue, and skin diseases, among other things.

Vitamin B6 as a weight-loss drug

As is the case with vitamin B12, there does not appear to be any strong evidence supporting the role of vitamin B6 in weight loss. When the body burns extra fat and breaks down food, it is known that vitamin B6 is an important part of this process, as the metabolism of lipids is stimulated by this.

The problem of course is that getting excess vitamin B6 can actually be harmful as it can over-stimulate the thyroid gland. Weight loss could happen with too much B6, but it's dangerous so no one should attempt to do so.

Summary

Both of these vitamins B6, and B12 are incredibly important for the body to function optimally. There are no studies that conclusively say that they are linked directly to weight loss. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle including proper exercise and diet are always the best way to have a more healthy body and control weight.
